If you have been benching and doing compound chest exercises for a while, chances are your lower chest is developed. You will not bring it out by adding more exercise, the lower chest is favorite place for fat storage on males. Chances are good that if you lean down, you will see some lower chest developement.

If you have not been doing weights for very long, give it time. Add if you are not doing them now decline benches and heavy dips. Research shows pretty conclusively that decline bench recruits the highest amount of muscle fibers.

Never give up weights for your chest, this is the way to build it. Pushups can be an added shock, but if you have been doing weights, pushups will not build your chest.

can pushups help with cutting?? my lower chest is hopeless and bench, weights aren't helping much, are pushups good??? for lower chest??

Muso, I use push ups as part of my workout followed by some bench exercise. I usually go for as many reps as I can and it has helped me while on a cutting phase. Remember that the most important part of cutting is the diet though.
