I have nutrient goals of:

120 g protein
250 g carbs
30-35g fat

I've been able to reach these goals pretty easily by eating 2 protein bars a day. Is this a bad idea? I know I could get the protein in by eating more chicken or cottage cheese, etc., but the bars give me my chocolate fix. I currently like powerbars: 25g P, 38g C, 5g F. Is this going to hurt me somehow? Any input is appreciated!!

Oh, and I am trying to lose weight, am currently at 151 lbs.

I'm not an expert, but I have been told that protein bars are not a good idea to eat regularly. I was told to only use them if in a bind.

It's not going to hurt you, but as I was told, the more real food you can eat to meet your requirements, the beter. I too, was eating quite a few bars as meal replacements because they were fast and easy. It only took me a couple of weeks to weed them out and now I only use if I'm on the run and can't eat my regular meals. I do have at least one protein drink/shake a day, usually after my workout.

Why not eat them regularly? Because they are processed? Maybe I'll cut down to one a day and see if I can keep those chocolate cravings at bay...
