I am currently lifting 8 lb weights, doing 3 sets of 12, 3 times a week. I have 13 inch arms that are big and meaty. Will this routine make them firm or bulky? I do not want to look disel and big, just tight and tone with some definiton. Any advice will be appreciated ;0)

To make your arms firm you'll need to follow a diet (eat enough protein!) next to your training. 8lb weights is not that heavy so I wouldn't really worry about getting bulky arms........

how much protien is enough for us gals who are lifting? I lift only 5# weights...is that suffecient or should I go heavier? I have big arms and wide shoulders as is. I have some fat on my arms, but I do not want bulk, just firmness. Thanks

Well honestly I never really pay attention to the charge I'm using when lifting.... I know what dumbbells I need to use to make it burn but I don't really care about how heavy it is BUT it buuuuuuuuuurns!!! (and I guess it's rather heavy since I often work out with guys and we normally use the same weight...) If you girls really want to shape those muscles then INTENSITY is the key word. If you can feel the burning with those 5lb weights (and not more than 10 reps) then that's the right weight for you. If not, don't ever worry about getting bulky arms because that wont happen.
Firmness is just another word for bulking......
My protein intake is normally around 140-180 gr daily (I weight 152lbs).
