I am 6ft 2in and weigh about 230 pounds.. A good portion of it is muscle but I still got some padding... I was wondering the weight lifting set, rep, weight methods I should use. I don't care about gaining muscle mass I just wanna get that padding off to show what I got ya know?

I was told of this what sounds to me like a reverse pyramid where it looks like this

10% max weight 12 reps
40% max weight 8 to 10 reps
60% max weight 6 reps
80% max weight 4 reps

I was wondering if anyone could clarify that for me or give me a good set rep and weight guide to work with.. Thanks

Were you aware that you can setup an exercise routine here on the site? They are all proven to work and it will get you past a lot of misinformation. I'm not sure what good 10% or actually even 40% of your max weight will do for you. 40 or 50 % can be good as a warmup but that's about all.

Your first step is to look at your diet. You can't lose weight/fat if you're not eating right. Stick with the weights, I'd lift heavier if I were you to help avoid any potential muscle loss.

Throw in a little cardio, HIIT works great, plug it into the search bar below and read up on it.
