Well, lately I've been eating a LOT of edamame( and I mean alot ,I Can't get enough of the stuff ), and anyways, I read the back, and even though its like a negligible 1-2 g or so of Saturated fats, I can't understand how Edamame or even oatmeal (.5 g sat. fat) has it. Saturated fats are found in ANIMALS only I thought. How are they getting into soybeans and oats?
Vegetable fats such as grain, seed, and nut oils tend to be less saturated and less harmful than animal fats such as butter and lard, but they are equally calorie-dense and present as you noted.
