Hey guys. I haven't been around the forums much recently because I am in my final year of college and have been extremely busy. I am considering ZMA as I haven't gotten much sleep the past couple of months and therefore no gains, (I actually lost strength) but I want to learn more about it first. I heard that it not only allows you to get a better night's rest, but it also boosts testosterone levels and has some other anabolic effects to help your body recover. I also heard (from an article) with creatine that your body will get used to your supplementation of it and produce less of it. Will the same thing happen with ZMA? (Your body gets used to getting what it does and your body-produced testosterone levels will lower. Kind of what ecstacy does to your brains dopamine level.) As of right now, I train naturally, no supplements, no nothing. I base my workouts around my diet, with a few protein bars. I don't want to take ZMA if it will affect my body in any way in the future (and thus affecting future gains) as I prefer to take the path of not taking supplements. Thanks.

Never fear,ZMA is but minerals, Zinc, Magnesium, and vit. B-6. It cannot hurt you, and will aid you in many ways, most of all sleep. Will even boost the immune system with the zinc, help you ward off colds. It in itself does not induce sleep, it enhances the quality of your sleep. Such as 5 hours can feel like 8. You may dream a bit, it is a very restful and sound sleep. It boosts anabolic hormones through this. Feel free to take it. It has become so important to me I have it right next to my Vit. C. I am never without it.
-------------- Great people never want it easier, they just want to be better!
