I just started working out, but I have Pernicious anemia it effects the Nervous/Muscular Systems causing Fatigue, and shaky nerves. I get a b12 shot about once a month but it doesn't seem to help. I've been jogging 3-4 times a week for 30-45 min but i'm so sore and tired for the rest of the day. I have a 2 years old, so going to a gym really isnt an option. I want to lose 20lbs. I've always been skinny but since i had a baby that 20lbs seems to still sit around my tummy. I've heard that a 1000 sit ups won't help. So other than watching what i eat what else can i do that won't drain my energy. i need food ideas and work out ideas....thanks

That sounds like a challenging problem. If it was me, I'd certainly cut back on the running so as to save my energy levels. If you continue to run your system down, you'll eventually lower your immune system and set yourself up for even worse problems. How about insuring that you only workout every other day so you have a full day of recovery. Maybe introduce some simple at home resistance training like pushups, ab work, body squats etc, but really monitor your energy levels. Cardio from swimming or an ellipticle may be a less stressful option as well. You might want to talk to your Dr. about this as well. Diet will obviously be key in loosing the wt for you, so I'd make that your focus. Concentrate on eating extremely healthy and don't cut your calories rediculously low either. Check out the grocery list for healthy eating which is thumbtacked in the food and nutrition forum. Lot's of great nutrition ideas there as well. good luck!

I agree with fly's advice to consult your doctor about your exercise and weight loss goals. Anemia can dramatically affect things, especially chronic anemia. Your doctor could give you some solutions for the anemia, be it diet or supplements or medication, that might really transform the exercise experience for you. And not feeling like you've been sucked dry of energy after exercising will definitely increase the likelihood that you'll stick with it.
