question for personal trainers

ok im goin to college and taking all of these classes that dont interest me one bit. i want to be a personal trainer. but i dont understand why i have to take western civ. or sociology to be one. my question is what is the best way to become a personal trainer? are all of these classes necessary? i really just want to study what interests me. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you may be majoring in sports medicine or something like it. Try looking at ISSA (http://www.issaonline.com), ACE (http://www.acefitness.com), or some other well-known personal training organization. Taking classes like kinesiology and biomechanics are very helpful. I don't have my certification yet, but I've done my research and I should become certified within a year. I've already graduated college, so I won't have to take all the courses you have. As a Biology major when I was in school, I took all those boring, unnecessary classes, too.
