I have question concerning my workout program. This workout program consists of 3 days (M, W, and F). Monday is chest, Wednesday is shoulders and back, and Friday is biceps and triceps. Is it okay to combine shoulders and back on the same day or should they be separated. The same goes for biceps and triceps. If they should be separated could you explain why.
Thanks,
Wayne

When do you do legs? I think most combinations are alright for a while. Constantly changing your routine is what gets you the best progress. A lot of people combine back with biceps as the biceps are used as a secondary muscle in your back workout. The same goes for chest/triceps. Personally I have to do shoulders separate from arms or both suck. You could combine shoulders with legs.

There are a gazillion ways to split your workouts up. If you are a beginner, though, there isn't a reason yet to do such a split. You could do total body, large movements three times a week for a few months before splitting it up.
