I have been working out and playing racquetball for over a year now. However, i was not very disciplined and I haven't seen much improvement. My aim is to do it right and I decided I needed a program, after a short research I found this website. I want an athletic body, not a muscular one, I'm 5.8 and 160 lbs, have a weak and problematic back that gives me a hunch. A doctor told me to strengthen my back many years ago and it dawned on me that he was right when I reached 30 yrs old :) I'm also uncomfortable with my chest, they are probably bigger than my g-f's, and since i'm close to slim overall, they look ugly (or so I think!)..
What do you guys suggest? The programs here, are they any good, and will they help me reach my goals? I just don't want to end up like Conan after a year, that's not what I'm after. :)

Not even Conan can look like Conan in just a year...lol! The programs here are good. It will design one with your goals in mind and using the equipment you have available. If you've never worked out before don't be afraid of lifting heavy. What is your diet like? You can work forever on trying to get muscles, but if your diet isn't clean and healthy you will have a hard time finding them. Hopefully someone can give you more precise advice on working out with a back problem. Good luck.

If it is your upper back that is weak and causing posture problems you need to start doing some seated rows or dumbell rows, those will help strengthen the muscles that pull your shoulders back. You will experience pain and discomfort as muscles that have gotten used to being lazy get worked, go slowly and don't give up.
Having tight chest muscles also contributes to shoulders rounding forward/back hunching. Be sure to do some good stretches for your chest and front deltoids. The easiest is to stand in a doorway and place your hands plam against the insdie of the frame while you gently lean forward through the doorway. You can change the stretch by bending your arms and raising them up a little higher, so your foreamrs are against the frame.
azredhead is right, your diet wil be what most affects your chest concerns, unless you have a hormonal problem that is causing your breast tissue to develop (gynomastia). Have your doctor check for this, it will save you a lot of hassle in the long run if it is an imbalance and is treated as such.
Good luck!
