hey lmelancon, i'm not far removed from your situation. what i used to eat in a hurry isn't what most people consider appetizing, but i like it.
i would get a pouch of tuna and empty it into a bowl with raw spinach leaves and maybe some whole grain crakers. kinda makes a salad, but not really. i also used to eat tuna straight out of the can when i was in a jam. i guess if you don't like tuna you're out of luck with those options, but what can you do?
mrp shakes/bars are also a great alternative. while you can't live on supplements alone, it's easy to throw a bar into your bag on the way out the door or grab a packet of powder and a shaker bottle. trioplex bars are amazing and very well balanced. i'm a fan of the smores flavor myself.
apples are also good to stick in your bag to snack on. if i have time i'll cut one up and bring a jar of peanut butter to kind of add a little kick to the slices. if not i'll just eat it whole.
hmmm...bags of cereal are good too. i used to bring smart start with soy protien in a bag and get a thing of yogurt on campus and mix it in. it was quite tasty.
anyway, i know how hectic this kind of life can be, but if you make the effort and use your available resources eating fast and healthy can be done. good luck!

I usually do things the night before. I make my lunch, and do everything that would consume a lot of time in the morning, the night before. The only thing I wish I could do is make my oatmeal. It sucks to sit and wait for it to cool down.

Hate to double post, but I just tried the tuna packet with a salad. Awesome stuff. I only had lettuce and carrots, but it tasted very good. Thanks for the idea, once again.

yay! i'm glad you liked it. i love to help when i can. sometimes i feel like a cat when i'm eating it - the whole food out of a pouch thing - but it's good, fast, and healthy:big_smile:.

Carry a cooler with you and the possibilities are endless. prep your food on the weekends or a few nights during the week. Cut up veggies, bake chicken breasts, wash salad greens.
Howdiekats suggestions are great, too!
I use to pack the following for a day at school (or at the gym, when I worked at the gym):
I would have my oatmeal and eggs at home. Mid-morning I would have a shake or bar.
For lunch - tupperware container of chicken salad (cubed chicken breast, celery chunks, grapes, walnuts, lowfat mayo, curry powder). Bag of cut veggies.
midday snack - bar or shake
maybe an apple.
Believe me, I have gone to school with people on pre-competition diets and they managed - it helps if you have access to a microwave, but even if you don't, it is possible.
I ate/eat a lot of green salad with chicken breast when I am not at home during the day. It is easy to pack and also available at most fast-food resturants now.

I read that bodybuilder grocery list and went to the store with it. I ran out of money before I could buy all my stuff.:laugh: Who knew how much Mrs. Dash costed that much. I think I need to start looking out for coupons. On the bright side, my frig is full of steak, and boneless, skinless chicken breast. And...not to mention, like 6 packets of the tuna-in-a-bag things.
