I was recently on weight watchers and decided to go in alone, however now I've signed up here I have a question about the amount of calories I've been given.
My calories are 3370, I had quite a bad day eating yesterday but when I entered all I had for the day I only came up with 2490. I couldn't possibly eat anything else! Is this wrong? I was under the impression that to lose weight you had to consume no more than 1800 calories.
My workouts are: two minute rotations of; treadmill, weights (2.5kg) reps, sit ups, squats, boxing (bag and sparring), jogging and side laterals (I think that's what they are). I do three a week of these plus starting my program here today.
Any advice, am I eating to much or too little.

Lots of people find the calories here a little high. There is no set amount that you have to be below to lose weight, it is a very individual thing. Try and workout how many cals you ate before you tried to lose weight, subtract 250 cals and try this amount for a week or two. Make further adjustments in increments of ~250 cals depending on what happens to your weight

Thanks Princess,
I've had two days on it now, today I ate healthily and didn't make the 2000 cal mark. So Im going to stick around that for a while and see how that goes. I have to say I was stunned when I first found out how much I had to eat. I thought I was already a big eater!

I've found that total calories is less important than when you eat. I used to eat 3 times a day, about 1300cals and didn't lose weight. I decided to stop trying, upped to 1700cals spread over 6 smaller meals and I keep losing weight by accident. Weird!

yea, same here. I'm losing weight almost every time I weigh myself. I don't do it that often cause it's kinda depressing. I'm trying to GAIN weight. I have to keep eating this way, so I don't get fat. If I eat junk, it'll go straight to my thighs.

Thanks people,
I'll take that on board. To be honest all the calorie counting had me confused. I'd rather just know Im eating healthy and leave it at that.

Hi Donna, I just posted some calorie formulas that may help, also, in the overweight and obese forum. It is just good to know what it is all about and how it affects us as there are so many questions regarding calorie counting.
