I am new to the site. I am also really excited about starting my program tomorrow. I do have a question. I was looking at the expectations, the sets and reps and all. I know that I can do some of them but not all of them, as I am not in great shape. could someone please expain to me if I have to complete all of the reps in a set and all of the sets right away or if I can work up to that

I would try to do all the sets and reps even if you use just a small amount of weight just my opinion.

Mrmagical is right on. Adjust the weights so can do all the reps and should be difficult on the last 3. Its the last ones that count. Thats what its all about, resistance and defying gravity. You can do it!

ok i tried... I got through 2 full sets of each excersise... except the ones that I knew I wouldn't be able ot do. I really did try though, but lets face it, I have never been able to do 52 push ups in my life, even when I was more active. Th other one I had big problems with was the "dips behind the back" (revers pushup) Thanks for the encouragement though, On my next training day I will be working to either add a set or else finish one that I couldn't today

If you find it tough, do less push ups (2 sets 12) and dips 2 sets 10. You don't want to discourage yourself so start slowly. Good luck

thanks Carivan, Maybe that is what I will try for my next train day. I am not discouraged but I also can't really afford to hurt myself or push to hard either.

The idea is to get through everything but with resistance. We all start somewhere, its different for everyone. Have fun!

The first set of barbells my husband bought me was 5 pounds each, I just sat them on the shelf and look at them now. Last week I did Dum-bell curls with 25lb weights and that was after I superset with barbell curls. That was 11 months ago. I really believe the best thing he did for me was to start me out on light weights. This did enable me to complete all the exercises he sat before me, It kept me from getting discouraged. I couldn't even do a pushup. Now I can rack off 25. You will get there, start out light and work your way up.
