You need to post more information. Are you going to stop after 3 weeks? If so, it will all come back. Keep up with it for years and incorporate it into your life. Exercise. You will lose weight and build muscle.

But seriously, you are jumping the gun. You will damage your body if you want a cure-all.

I am assuming that you are talking about the first stage of the diet which typically lasts about 2 weeks but you can continue on that stage for as long as you like. I did a version of the south beach diet (the GI - glycemic index - diet) and did see loss around the stomach. For whatever reason, the south beach diet, atkins diet, GI diet all seem to target stomach fat...at least in my case and in the cases of those I have known who have done these diets. You will see, over time, overall weight loss. The first two weeks, I lost almost 20 lbs...now I know it is water weight, but I was glad to see it go. If done properly, you can expect a weight loss of 2 to 5 lbs per week..depending on how much you need to lose. You will consistenly lose fat if you also exercise regularly...something I did not do the first time around...but I won't make that mistake again.

Good luck to you.
