Whats up everyone, i think i know a way to quit. (or it only worked with me) Start lifting for bigger gains. Obviously most of us ar on this site for what? Gains and better phys condition. As soon as i started the 12 week mass program i was obviously in the gym more and working harder! After you work out there is just something about it, but you dont want one after that. Now this cold possibly just have happened to me. But i guess it couldnt hurt to have others try and ditch those things. After about a week or two of seeing my gains and better mental consentration I slowly stopped having cravings. Dont get me wrong, you will still want one sometimes, but it is a less powerfull craving that you can ignore easy. Hope this works for at least one of you! -snow |

Well, I am not a teenager, but thought I could back you up here snow. I have been smoking longer than any of you have been alive and I know how hard it is to quit. Snow, you are absolutely right. I have quit so many times that I have quit quiting. The only times that I have ever quit or slowed way down was when I got pregnant (I do not encourage that) and when I was working out. The more conscientious you are about your body, the more you worry about what goes in it. You are on the right track. |

It may be a little different than what you are thinking of lifting wise, but it also helps me with smoking. It makes me think of the other guys my age trying to beat me in competition and it drives me harder and I do everything to get better. Like not smoking... |

Yep, less oxygene to the muscles so harder work to get the same results. |

I want to quit also but before when I did I didn't gain any weight because started alot of cardio exercise but also didn't see any improvements even with my strict diet and large amounts of cardio. (I didn't weight train at that time which I am now) but now afraid I won't see any gains so thought about keeping the habit till I see some gains.

I used to think somoking was cool...that is until I saw my dad cough up blood and have a heart attack at 42. Then I thought, um, not so cool.

An old post but definitly worth mentioning. I've tried to stop smoking too, several times (nicorette, gums, etc..) most of these pharma products are just a placebo or a temporary substitudes, once you stop you'll get back to smoking unless your mentally strong enough!
HOWEVER!as snowboarder_76 mentioned a great amount of physical efforts tend to cut this crave moreover there are several things that I've experience to work on me is Sauna/Hammam , Swimming Pool, Apples & Oranges, reduce coffee and avoid alcohol by any means. With all that I stopped smoking for 2 months, basically I was not addicted anymore. until I moved in with my girlfriend.... that is a bunch of stress, couldn't help but murder my cigarettes at every argument. But it worked... |

I am suprised that no one has mentioned the Rx drugs to help quit smoking.
I used Chantex after smoking (on and off...mostly on) for 35 years. Day 4 of the drug was my last cigarette. I continued for the recommended 3 months, and have been nicotine free for 19 months. This is why I (just) joined this site...I feel good enough for the first time in my LIFE that I might be able to get "FIT". Skinny as a kid (didn't eat much because I smoked) and now I'm a bit thicker than I want to be. GOOD LUCK to all who try to quit and Congrats to those that make it. |

I second Chantix, wow it really worked great. I did have side effects though of irritability and crazy dreams.

This is a really old post.FT has changed a lot. Phillia is hot in her swim suit. There is a guy with his head up his a** and another guy posing in his drawers.-------------- I would have a million dollars now if only I had only followed CNBCs advice...and I had started with a hundred million dollars.
