Nope, sorry. Actually my Doctor would tell you that is very bad "Sleep Hygene". You are not supposed to eat, read, watch tv, nothing, but sleep and sex in bed. It can eventually lead to insomnia. You actually train your body that when it lays down in bed it's sleep time. If you lay in bed for more than 15 minutes you are supposed to get up and read or something else. "What if I'm up til 4am?" I ask. "Tough. You won't be up that late the next day. The important thing is getting your body trained."
Hows that for ammo?

That is great can I quote you? and is your Dr male. The reason for the second question is that I have asked other women including my Dr. hwo is female they think that this is normal. My wife will wake up in the middle of the night and read. I must admit I am jelous I want the action not her book.

This year I was diagnosed with Severe Sleep apnea,
The first thing the my doc (Male) and the sleep specialist
(Also male) both told me was about sleep hygene. I don't
Think gender would have jack to do with it. Muscle memory
is muscle memory. And yes you can quote me. If you want to
read the coolest article Sempai go to www.mikementzer.com
click "articles" and read about Bruce Lee's workout. There is an entire article on it

I prefer cudling and small talking with my hubby before jumping to the land of dreams...... No I don't read in bed. In front of the TV at night yes (I rather want to read than watch TV) but in bed no.

OK, I am a reader in bed, especially now that I'm not with the hubby and living in the barracks. The bed is more comfortable than the government chairs so I watch tv, read, or just chill on my bed. I like to read books, but when I am with the husband, he don't like it when I read in bed, but then again I don't read much when I'm with him anyway, we have funner things to do since we only see each other every six months or so (hopefully soon that will change).

Cain,

I've been there with the sleep apnea. Tried using a CPAP machine for a few weeks, and it did not work. Last month I had surgery to correct my deviated septa. Best damn thing I have ever done--I sleep like a baby now. My energy levels are where they were 10-15 years ago. I can concentrate on my tasks all day long, and work out longer and harder. So if you're running out of options, I wholeheartedly recommend the surgery. Just make sure you've got a good surgeon. Mine was awesome! (Anyone in the Atlanta area need a great ear, nose, and throat spec just let me know.)

As for reading in bed, I generally do not. I might work on a crossword puzzle for a few minutes, but that's about it. My wife does every night, annoys the hell out of me, so we generally sleep separately.

Thanks Metalhead. I got diced up last year, so I'm just not in a hurry to do it again. Currently use a cpap, which has done jack for me since day one. My doctor told me to get mor exercise and lose some weight. If it still didn't work then we would look at surgery. I am going to lost another 25-30 lbs I think then if I still have problems it looks like I get to have surgery again.

Well Cain she did'nt like the answer or maybe it was the way I delivered it. I can see I am up for a battle here. But I will keep trying. As far as the sleep thing my wife can fall asleep faster than I thought possible and just about any time of day or night. She takes meds for Anxiety which make her tired and dam near shuts down the sex drive. It's starting to get to me, guess I just needed to tell someone

Bascially if you do powerlifting exercises you will be working fast twitch muscles. Check out deepsquatter.com or just ask around in the powerlifting forum.
