I just started my plan.. which is the usual 4 sets (15,15,12, 10) Squats, push-ups, calf-raises, tris.. lats.. etc..

Anyways, it's been a while since I worked out, and I'm dedicated to getting myself into shape while I'm still relatively young (26) and not too overweight (5'10, 185.. my target is closer to 170)

I really want to follow the plan to the T as best as I can, but It's now Day 3 and I'm scheduled to work out again this evening.. The problem is that I'm so sore I can barely walk. If I try to touch my right shoulder with my right hand, etc, it's too sore to even get it the full way.. (Unless I press it of course, but the pain usually stops me..)

I'm not a total wuss anyway, and I'm willing to do the work out in a heartbeat even through the pain.. I'm just not sure if I'm supposed to break down the muscle again with all this soreness, or if I should skip the 2nd day of 3 day workout weeks.

Thanks for your help..

secondeye, it will pass. Soreness is normal when you just start out. Stretching and warm showers help. You may want to lighten up the weight for a little while and build up gradually. Believe it or not more exercice will help ease the soreness. We have all been there. Welcome to FT and good luck.
