Hi, it's me again with another stupid and probably obvious question. :P

I don't want to lose weight and I don't want to gain a lot of muscle. I'm not looking to body build or anything. All I want to do is get rid of the flab, to firm up and tone up.

I'm not sure if the program I signed up for here (General Progression) is doing that. At first I signed up for the weight loss one, but that seemed to be building my muscles, so I switched.

My friend, who is a Marine and works out several times a day, said that the key is doing lots of reps with relatively low weights. Is that what the General Progression Program is doing?

One more question: I am really bad at running, mostly due to the fact that I am really out of shape, but also the fact that I'm not sure I'm doing it right. I know there is a right and a wrong way to run, and a right way for beginners to start out. I want to start running...

Runnersworld.com has a section with training programs for beginners, another good site is coolrunning.com
I posted an article about bulking and toning under the Female Discussion area, I think you should check it out, it may indirectly answer your question.
