normal? not likely.
My answer would depend on what you did to make your bench go down 20lbs.

yea a bit backwards....when your offseason starts you should get stronger not weaker...

I think maybe he means that he lost it during the season, so by the end, he was 20 lbs weaker, which isn't too uncommon.
Of course, I could be just making his post make more sense than he intended...

Well, I always lost much strength and size during my basketball seasons, but this was due to poor eating and in-season conditioning (much is due to my coach). Get it back up, and next season, really focus on at least maintaining that strength.
As far as tips go, just train hard, and usually you will regain your status pretty fast if you've been there before.

Did you train during inseason or did you lay off from lifting completely? Because 20lb is not much of a drop if you took like a 3 month break...
It's usually easier to get back to weight you had done before so this shouldnt take too long.
Just about any decent program focusing on heavy lifting will get you there....
DOnt forget to focus on overall strength also....bench is just something on top of squats, deadlifts, chins, dips, GMSs, OHPs, etc....doing bench press+curls=stupidity=injury
