hi im eating fairly healthy foods atm along with regular exercise but my metabolism has always seemed a little slow to me (maybe my imagination :) ) and im hoping somebody can recommend a good food that i can have small amounts of at regualr intervals that will help to burn off cals ? i have a spoon of low fat cottage cheese evry couple of hours for the protein as i do weight exercise in the evening and cardio in the morning so i wanted to make sure i was getting enough protein although i tend to have tuna at lunch and grilled chicken in evenings (all with steamed/boiled veg, ive stayed away from bread/rice/pasta as i like veg just as much now )so i guess i probly get plenty in reality
thanks

eat beans(black beans especially), yogurt, nuts, ..

space meals/snacks every 2 hours.....stick to complex carbs(yams, sweet potatoes, lentils, brown rice, whole wheat/rye bread)...try to avoid simple carbs like potatoes, pasta, white rice, white bread, etc.....try to not eat carbs an hour or two before bed...

thanks , with me being at work nuts would be the best option. would walnuts be ok as i like them and also how much would i be best eating every 2 hrs? would say 2 walnuts be enough? also out of interest could you tell me if eating a spoon of cottage cheese every 2hrs or so like ive been doing was a bad thing?

thanks for patience and advice :)

id say with the walnuts, stick with the recommended serving or a reasonable handful. same thing with the cottage cheese (well not the handful :)).. it'll tide you over a little longer.. 2 walnuts and a scoop of cottage cheese isnt very much

Might consider eating smaller meals and bigger snacks. Getting the same caloric intake throughout the day, just broken up evenly through your meals and snacks.

only problem with that is when im working i cant really break for food often but i can always keep a bag of walnuts in my pocket :) but i have visions of me putting weight on through nibbling my nuts all the time ...erm that came out wrong but you get my drift :)

maybe try tracking your diet for a few days, and see how many you can afford with what your nutritional profile offers.. then just keep that many in your pocket
