I know many woman who live with their boyfriend/ husband, move in and start to gain weight. I live with my boyfriend, and he requests that we eat heavier meals such as pastas, sheppherds pie, hambergers. He manages to stay in great shape, while I end up dealing with the consequences of eatting these foods on a regular basis. I do not have time to cook 2 different dinners a day, and I know that not many men want to deprive themselves from their favourite meals. Any advise to keep both the man and the woman happy at dinner time?

Yes, simply eat less. Not speaking down to you at all. Though it sounds probably too simple, in the end it does come down to calories. Just reduce your portion sizes, add some energy expenditure, and you can hang in there.

If you are the one cooking the meal...why not cook what you want??I understand if your better half wants these things you are happy to make them for him...but you could compromise and make these types of meals say 2-3 days a week, versus whatever he desires for every meal. All strong relationships are built on compromise.

I sued to have the same problem, especially when dieting for a show.
I try to meet my husband half way by creating lighter, healthier versions of the things he likes. I also take larger portions of veggies.
I don't cook catering to his preferences every night, just often enough to keep him happy, most night we have some version of chicken, rice and vegetables. He likes that, so i guess I am lucky.
When we do have pasta, I make a seperate pot of whole wheat or rice pasta for me at the same time that I make a pot of regular pasta for him (and my daughter) they both will eat a little whole whaet mixed into their regular pasta, but not all whole wheat. I eat all whole wheat, measure my portion, and as I said i have extra vegetables.
Use the leanest meats you can for everything and a good quality olive oil.
On Shepard's pie, potpie, etc I make just a thin top crust and really load the pie with veggies and extra lean ground beef or chicken. You can use a reduced fat/low sodium cream of mushroom soup instead of heavy white sauce for the filling. Smae flavor, less calories. Shepard's pie use homemade mashed potatoes made with skim milk or even mashed sweet potatoes for a change.
Hamburgers are great made from extra lean ground beef or bison or turkey. Experiment with ading in pureed veggies when making the patties, or load up a meatloaf with veggies and use otameal and eggwhites for binders instead of flour/bread crumbs/whole eggs.
Serve his burger the way he likes it and then pile up your smaller burger with lettuce, onion, tomato, peppers.
Healthy food can be hearty and filling! He may or may not realize that you are making slight changes to his food, if he complains tell him to cook for himself, you are just trying to make him healthier.

if the venison tasted real gamey, it wasnt prepared correctly kc, i do venison cheese balls wrapped in bacon and also venison sausage with a jalapeno/wild/portabella shroom sauce, you dont get the real gamey taste, its more of a smokey shroomy taste with a kick form the peppers, mmmmmmm mmmmmm good
