I'm in week 11 of my FT program, and although I chose the lean muscle mass regimen, I'm surprized that it's having me do so many reps. It recommends doing 16 (sometimes 20) reps for various exercises and tapering down to 8-10 reps over 3 or 4 sets.
I'm looking for SIZE! Although I'm getting some, I'm wondering if lower weight and lower reps wouldn't work better. Why would FT recommend so many reps?
Also, to build size, how long should I be resting between sets?

You mean higher weight and lower reps. The last time I did the FT mass program, the high reps. were only for certain exercises like dumbbell raises.
In actuality, the key to adding more mass is by stimulating your muscles. The only way to do that is to progressively increase weights which recruits more muscle fibers to get the job done (hence, more mass). I'm not saying that you should only do 1-2 reps. at the heaviest weight you can. Instead, keep your rep. range to about 4-8 before failure.
As far as rest periods between sets, I would recommend between 2-3 minutes.

Yes, I meant HIGHER weight and LOWER reps. Thanks for the reply. So, if I do lower reps, is there a better training plan here I should be using?
also . . . to put photos in your profile, do you have to be a paying FT member??
