chose what ever weight is comfortable for you. How many reps you do on one side do to the other side.

Start with a weight you know you can handle. Try not to overdo it in your first couple weeks. I started out doing just situps and pushups before I started working out in February. I was sore for a long time with using any weights at all! My body just wasn't used to the stress of excercise. Now, I crave it. As for reps, start out with relatively high reps for the first week or two. Maybe 4 sets per excercise, 8-15 reps per set, 60-90 seconds rest between sets (stretch during these rest periods). MAKE SURE YOU STRETCH BEFORE DOING ANYTHING!!!!!!

Well should start slow but do not go easy on yourself. Work your sets as they are programmed for you, however if you think you cannot finish it, at least try to get as much as you can from whatever you can do. Make sure you warm-up and stretch before and a little during the exercises. Good Luck!!!
