How many of you deal with resentment from others because you actually try to eat healthy at 95% of meals? It seems that everywhere I go, especially at home, people want to label me a "freak" because I'll have something healthy instead of a cheeseburger or some fried foods which are so greasy that they reflect light off the plate. Is everyone else just jealous that I have more will power than them?

Ditto...person at work likes to try the fad diets every other week and can't figure out why they're gaining weight and they get mad at me for losing weight successfully (the right way). Whenever there's cake here their always bringing me a piece or 2...funny thing is I usually eat it and still lose weight....makes em even more mad.

Big H , just light 'em a cigarette, hand 'em a beer and ignore 'em. You're on the right track.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who experiences this. I'm sure it's common sense psychology. Deep down, these people know they are unhealthy but they want to feel better about it so they try to bring me down as well. My family, as grateful as I am for them and what they do for me, are among the worst health culprits I know. My dad drinks at least 6-7 beers per night and my mom smokes pretty heavily. I'm 22 and it's been that way for as long as I can remember. Dad's blood pressure is some ridiculous number up near 200 and he has high cholesterol. My mom is a teacher who has the summers off and she spends the day doing crosswords and snacking on Chips Ahoy, Doritos, and pretty much any other type of ungodly food that you can name. It's hard to find a healthy meal around here so I buy most of my own food and usually she gets mad when I don't want to eat what they're eating. Thankfully I am moving out next month and will be able to completely control what I eat.

I know how that is. Everyone keeps n telling me that I have great will power. I rewarded myself with some unhealthy food for the first time in 5 weeks. After eating it, I felt even more guilty.

thats the way to go bigh. i came home for summer, and my diet doesnt always agree with what the folks are eating. so i resorted to purchasing food for myself. if your mom feels put out by you not eating her meals, offer to cook one or two a week for the family YOUR way. who knows, they might even enjoy it..
its even alright to have a cheat meal each week. some studies even show that the change to your normal diet stimulates your metabolism up a bit over the next 24 hours.. a great way to stem cravings.
