It's been nearly 2 months since I've been able to do a full workout (ie: herniated disc in my neck/upper back area that pinched off the nerve in my right arm.) I've been very disappointed in not being able to do ANY sort of upper body workouts, so much so that I've been in a state of giving up my gym time completely. *feeling frumpy & depressed*
After looking in the mirror day after day in utter disappointment. I've decided not to let this injury get the best of me after all!! It's an opportunity to give my lower body some much needed attention in getting LEANER & concentrate on designing my workout around things I CAN actually do ie: cardio & lower body. *my lower body always screamed for more attention anyway, right? :)
Since I can only do legs (heavy weight training 2x per week; 1 day isolation exercises. the other compound) should I not do any cardio at all on those days since my legs are usually spent?
Should I stick with ONE form of cardio the other 4 days or mix it up between machines ie: one day treadmill, one day elliptical, one day step class, one day bike?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! :)

You could skip cardio on really hard leg days, let them recover, but a little cardio after working your legs helps get the lactic acid moved through/out o the muscles, so maybe ten minutes gentle biking or something.
Swith up the cardio on the other days, keep your body guessing.

Great..thanks! Actually just got the "okay" from my doc to resume upper body workouts again! Hurray!! However, must "go light" on the weights for a while. :( Babysteps.
Will take the advice of utilizing different forms of cardio equipment.
