A good place to start is 1 gr. per lb. of bodyweight if you are doing resistance training. You can go always go up, better to err on the high side of protein than carbs. We all by now are painfully aware Iam sure what happens when maintenace calories are reached, and glycogen stores are full, and you take in more carbs. Excess protein will more than likely be expelled from the body rather converted to glycogen and stored as fat. The figures are thus, protein 58%, fats 10%, and carbs 100%, 100% of the time.

Hi:
I got confused when you said carb 100% !!
is it 32% carb if protein is 58% and fat is 10% ?
thanks

No, what I mean by those numbers is the probability (likelihood) of each of them being converted to glucose and thus to fat if conditions are right. Carbs can be 100% of the time.

Try this. 1.5 to 2.0 grams of protein per Kilogram of body weight. Take your weight in lbs and divide by 2.2 to get your kilogram weight. Divide the total number of protein by 6. Try to get that number in each of your feedings during the day. Remember, your body can only use about 25-40 grams of protein per feeding. So don't overconsume and waste it.

This is not true, very old time. It is difficult to dispel myths that become conventional wisdom somehow. The digestive system can handle almost anything you throw at it. It is also a good idea to get different amounts of protein at some times. For instance, post workout 1/4 your bodyweight in protein is an optimal amount.

There is research to back this up

bb1: You are right, the research is out dated. I just looked it up. Susan Kleiner recommends .5 grams of protein per kg of body weight and 1.5 grams of high glycemic index carb per kg of bw immediately following exercise. For me, 120 kg that would be 60 grams of protein and 180 grams of carb
