A month ago I had rotator cuff surgery on my right shoulder, not due to a workout type injury. For now, all I can work out are my legs, forearms, and biceps/triceps. Here are my questions:
1. Should my protein intake be reduced due to the limited ability of a full schedule workout (all muscle groups)?

2. The only safe way, for now, to do bicep exercises with my right arm is to place the elbo on my thigh and use a lighter weight than what I am capable of with my left arm. Should I use the same poundage in my good arm as in the healing side so as to maintain symetry?

3. Finally, since I can only work out legs/bi's & tri's/forearms could I increase the frequency of these workouts, say twice or three times per week, or should I stay on the once per week per body part schedule?

Thank you guys for your input.

if anything you need more protein to maintain your muscle...and help your body heal....

Ask your doc when it's safe to rehab your rotator cuff...and then start doing light, external and internal rotation exercises with just your arms or using 2.5 lb dumbells..

Here are illustrations of rotator cuff exercises and stretches...

I would do couple sets of each exercise in the 15-20 rep range....and then little by little try to increase the number of sets.....once you get to about 5-8 sets....consider slightly increasing the weight you're using...

Use as much weight with strong weight as with weak hand...and you can try doing super slow reps...5 sec down and 5 sec up per rep....this will allow you to train your muscles harder with lower weight ....

you can use lighter weights and do higher frequency...2-3 times per week .....light/mod weight with moderate volume...

I also highly suggest that you start taking Fish Oil supplement(capsules ...or liquid whichecer u prefer)....at 5-10g per day....2-5g in the morning and 2-5g in the evening...fish oil helps spare lean muscle in times of injury or caloric decific.. among many other benefits...

good luck
