I'm new and just filled out my profile and received a routine. I am a beginner at this point because my weight is so high after having two kids. The first thing on my routine was wide grip chins. I can't do a chin up, let alone a wide-grip chin up. Please tell me what I can do to revise this. It's frustrating to sign up just to have routines out of my league from day one. Thanks!
Hi Volley. If you are going to the gym, use the pull down bar. You can adjust the weight. Otherwise, you can go to the Health Resources section at the top of this board, find the area that the chin ups are in. They happen to be listed in "back and trapezius" muscle category. Then just look in that muscle category for an exercise that you can do. You musn't get discouraged so easily. And remember, this site is free. It may be frustrating, but you are receiving a lot of invaluable information for nothing. You may need to do a little "tweaking" on your own. Feel free to ask on the board, there are a ton of people here willing to help.
