Hi, I'm a new member and I have a question about running. I know it's a good way to burn calories to lose weight & tone, but whenever I run, my calves get huge and I feel like my clothes are tighter! I don't know if I just don't give it enough chance or what, but I get freaked out because I just want to lose the extra fat on my lower body & get toned, not bulk up! Any advice? Thanks!
Oh I luuuv to run!!! Now if you do slow endurance running then you shouldn't be worrying about getting big leg muscles. On the contrary it can help you (with strength training) to lean out those legs!
Another thing, yes you'll be loosing calories (and fat if you follow a diet) by running BUT you'll just end up with a skinny upper body and bigger lower part. What can change that is weight training and nothing else.
Good luck!!
