Hi, I'm 4 months pregnant and want to know what are some safe toning exercises. My doctor said I need to exercise and not gain more that 15 lbs since I'm already overweight. Started walking, but want to add some light weight training as well, just can't seem to find any info on what's safe.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Having never been in that situation I'll cop out and refer you to a post by asimmer that has some good guidelines. :)

Be sure you are doing low impact....there are some great pregnancy workout tapes out there.watch your heart rate carefully and be sure you are drinking LOTS of water.Working out while pregnant feels very good...as your prgnancy moves along you'll really feel great getting that body up and moving!!Instead of weights, try rubberbands.
good luck!!

I have seen numerous pregnant women in my gyms over the years. Most go right on with what they were doing before, some look like they are about to pop too!(depends on how hard core you are) I would however recommend for the most part sticking with machine type stuff, this will eliminate most any joint problems from arising and keep your body intact in a certain plain of movement, where little to no accident could happen.
