Hi all,
This is a question relating to either training, or to the performance log - or maybe both.
Can anyone tell me why doing the same exercise (Cable pushdowns) on the same type of machine, but at a different location would have vastly different results? Can a cable machine be set up so differently that a pushdown exercise at one gym can have a 160# warmup, while the same type of machine at a different gym would be completely immovable at that level? I understand there may be variation in training, but that's a little extreme, correct?

I've noticed that too, so I have given up on machine weight/stack amounts. I still use them, what I mean is that I do not relate the weight amount to freeweights or even other machines.. I just make sure to up the weight as much as I can to get >6 and <12 reps. If anything the weight displayed on one machine might just be a starting point for another.. a general guide on where to start, might have to go up or down from there.

Because weightlifting is all about leveraging and angles... That and some machines are set up on different cable systems, as in like a double pulley system.
