For about once a week I always get a set of of red, bloody, scrapes on or near my shoulder blades. I assume this must be from when I am lifting heavy and intense while laying down on a bench format (such as a benchpress) but I would like to know if anyone else has had a similiar problem and also, what would the best way would be to correct this. Thank you.

Heh, yeah, I get those from squats and such. The only problem has been, originally, my wife looking at them askance, wondering what woman did that and where I've been. :) Try more padding.

LOL stormcrow. I get that from squats a swell, but I look at them as battle scars. (Hell yeah)

So true!
I got in MAJOR trouble twice with girlfriends when I was powerlifting. The first was after a bench day, and my GF got pissed when she saw the "claw marks" on my back! The second was after a squat - between the marks from the bar, and from the lifting suit, she thought I had hickies... I was finally able to calm her down when I told her to imagine the size and shape of the girl's mouth that could have made those marks!

Yeah, I get them every week on legs day. Either from standing calf raises on the machine, squats or even hack squats. My girlfriend has never questioned them though. Kinda weird looking things.

I like you dont get them from leg days but yes from days i do heavy bench press. I wear tank tops and my blades touch the bench and it doesn hurt but it does leave a mark.
