There is this girl i know from work. She is 18 and a 9 on my scale out of 10.We click so well and it's just fun to hang with her because we make fun of eachother and always try to get the best of one another. She has a 19 year old bf in the picture though lol.She keeps telling me how they are always arguing and that soon the relationship will be over. She also tells me she wants to be single(lol prolly to date me).But she still hasn't dumped him.Why would she tell me she is going to and that the relationship is not that great if she wasn't planning to actually dump him?A friend of mine suggested maybe she is scared to get out of the relationship.Maybe there might be physical abuse but i see no signs of it and this girl is really confident and wouldn't seem to stand for abuse. Is she maybe clinging to this relationship because she believes it will get better? and if so why is she telling me how the relationship will be over soon and that she wants to be single.I am just worried about her and want to know she's safe lol prolly just jumping to conclusions but o well.Better safe then sorry.

She's probably talking to you about it as a sounding board. People frequently talk to others about things in their lives to get different view points. You are doing it right now with all of us.

I would not assume that she wants to be single in order to date you. Or were you joking on that?

I also would not assume that because she talks about dumping the guy she actually will. People say and do things in anger many times that they don't mean or regret later. And some people (even those that seem strong) seem to stay in "bad" relationships for whatever reason.

From what you've explained she is probably telling you about it just to get things off her chest. If you are worried about her safety, just ask her. I'm all for direct up front honesty. Explain that you consider her a friend and are worried for her well-being and ask her if she is physically and mentally ok in the relationship.
