Should I eat school lunch?

im 15 145 pounds and im trying to get bigger/stronger for football season. I still have fat i'd like to lose though. I want to be big and lean not just another fat blob linemamn like other people on my team.

for breakfast i eat usually two hard boiled egg whites, half a bagel with a little cream cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt or fruit and some milk. and for dinner i just eat whatever my family eats. Ive been told that for what im trying to do i should eat the school lunch but its probably not the healthiest thing to eat. Usually when i bring my lunch i get hungry around 3:30-4 but that doesnt really happen as much when i eat school lunch. i lift afterschool 3 days a week and run track the other two.

I wouldn't recommend eating school lunch. I would continue bringing my own lunch and just add more food to it. It looks like you might need to eat more protein. Two hard boiled egg whites is nothing really if you want a lot of protein. Consider taking protein shakes. Check out the bodybuilders grocery list for foods that you should eat to accomplish your goals.

i do i take a protein shake after i work out in the afternoon. the cottage cheese and milk add a decent amount of protein at breakfast.

the coach says i need to put on at least 10 pounds of muscle before football season. even then i'll only be a 155 pound lineman

one eat more.......2 some of the school food is ok.....milk, fruit.....stuff like that.

this is what I did when I in high school.

breakfast
2-3 eggs( cooked however take out an yoke if you go 3)
2 pieaces of toast( wheat)
1 big glass of milk(nonfat).
* add some cheese to eggs if you like( non fat or low fat parasian)

easily thats 40g protein

snack 3-4 hours later
some unsalted nuts, protein bar

20g protein

lunch

tuna sandwich w/ cheese,lettece tomato......grab you some veggies form the cafateria( if they have some) carton of milk , peabnut butter sandwich with some jelly if you like.

easly another 30-40g protein

before you workout
protein bar.

20g protein


after workout a protein shake....30-40 and some gatoraid( optional)


theres 120g of protein before dinner. And all of it can be carried in a lunch box.

Protein power could be substituted for the bars, and made even easier just with a water foutain.

It is definately time to eat...Football season is far from now. A lot of lineman are very big and fat. a 155 lb. lineman is kinda...you know...not so heavy. I would say eat eat eat! Get big and strong and impress your coach. If you have any questions about gaining muscle weight, just ask us

I didn't say to get fat. Or maybe i did, but that's not what I meant. I meant that you should lift weights, gain some good muscle, but some fat will come. 10 lbs. of muscle is something that is hard to gain and seeing that you have a limited time to do so will probably mean that you will have to gain some fat along with the muscle in order to satisfy your coach.
