Whenever I try to do pushups, I experience pain in my right shoulder. I injured the rotator in this shoulder years ago and have had problems with it from time to time since then. What can I do or is there any other exercise I can do instead of pushups?

I couldn't do push ups well for years after I had a car wreck. This may not work for you, but if you have access, swimming worked great for me. There wasn't a hard resistance but the water resistance and the motion was enough to strengthen that area. Also, if you have a stability ball, try doing push ups on it. They seem to be easier to me.
