For the whole past month , I have been really sick, I was recovering pretty well, so I thought that I would jump right back into my normal routine, but maybe just a little slower. Except even doing that after my second set on squats I would have to run to the bathroom to throw up. So I cut my workouts even more since I was getting sicker, then the next time I did squats I had a 25lb. decrease per set, I normally start out with 300lbs. by 10 I only got that 6 times on the 3rd set.
My sprinting speed has slowed down, My strength is going to hell, and so is my endurance, and Everything I have worked for is suffering. I just went to the doctor for 4th time and the antibiotics he gave me seem to be working, so I'm getting really tempted to go train reeall bad, I have a thirst in my mouth to go, but I dont want to have another relapse.
So what should I do? How long should I wait to back to Full steam Ahead Training? The doctor said I should be feeling better 3-5 days since monday. HELP I NEED TO BACK TRAINING LIKE A CHAMPION!

ease back into it....take at least the amount of time your doctor recommended...so at least 5 days....and maybe even a full week....antibiotics weaken your body as they fight the infection...so even if you might be feeling better....you are still in a fairly weakened state....don't rush it...

Once I am back in the gym, I would decrease all my lifts by 10%....and then lift those weights for number of reps I usually do...then once I see improvement...I would slowly increase the weights...

Also remember that while you're away from the gym, you need to make sure you do as much as possible to spare the muscle you do have....which means increasing protein intake to about 1.5g per lb of bodyweight, take fish oil..drink losts of water...more than usual since you're sick...at least a gallon and maybe 1.5 gallons...if you got the money take some BCAAs (leucine, isoleucine, valine)...which help spare muscle(I am guessing you're having a decrease in appetite and are consuming less calories...so if that's the case they can help)

Actually I have been eating like a pig, Drinking atleast a gallon a day for the past 2 weeks, I havent take my protein shake thats loaded with amino acids in awhile, I have been trying to take care of myself as much as possible. But I need to get back soooon, and when I do I need to be able to go Full speed AHEAD. Especially since, sometime soon probably a month I'm going to need to be able to run as fast as I was running before if not faster when I was healthy.
I need to be able to get under that Squat rack and all my other lifts, and sprints and go all out to Win and achieve my goals.
I hate this Sickness.

try instead of going for heavy poundages.....just go for reps......I mean 300 starting out is alot, I don't do that and i'm sure no one else does.....unless your squats 700+.
If you concenrtre on the reps,, your still working the muscle so your body will keep them around...btu take it easy and put your ego aside and go light.....even if its 50% of your max......do it 12 times, rest 15sec do it again ro super set it. You can make stuff challanging with lil weight and still get a good workout.

push yourself too hard to quick , when your body is trying to fight off a virus will just get you hurt.Your body needs enegry to fight a virus, just as much as a work out.......your not gonna loose alotta muscle in a week or two off I assure you.......I just got off form a week off.....and came back within 5lbs of my last weights.....and now i'm 5lbs over my last weights.

i hope you're right. I dont squat 700, I squat about 410 which is twice my body weight, but when i was healthy after I warmed up , I went 300 by 10, 315 by 8, and 330 by 8. I was getting real strong, naturally too. But now I'm sure that has done down alot.

I think what andrew means is that your first set (not including warmups) should be alot less than 300lbs. Also, dont worry about making gains. If your sick, then only work out enough to keep the gains you already made. As long as you dont get weaker and loss muscle, there will be plenty of time to make gains when you healthier.

Only a man who knows what it is like to be defeated can reach down to the bottom of his soul and come up with the extra ounce of power it takes to win when the match is even.
