Are the supplements available in the market safe.Everyone is so keen about taking whey protein, creatine & gluts but will their be any side effects in the future. Many of u must be taking for about many years & might not face any difficulty but what if someday if u come 2 know that u have damaged one of your internal organs. |

There have always been skeptics on everything. Sure, creatine can completely ruin your kidneys, but only if you don't drink water. Glutamine, the most abundant amino acid in your body, can have an adverse effect on the brain via excitotoxins, if you consume 50 grams a day for 12 months. Everything is safe in moderation. Even Vitamin C can have negative effects on people in large doses. Just read the labels, follow directions, and you're good to go. If you need any ideas or have any questions, just post 'em. --JBennett |

I get it but consider one thing which is that research is still goin on regarding the possible side effects of supps. What if after around 2 years or so u come 2 know that the supp. which u r taking is slowly damaging one of your vital body parts. |

Archan, you have some good points but sometimes people can be to cautious. Im not saying it is a bad thing, my grandma is kind of like that. But consider this. Everyday you breath millions of toxins that are beating the crap out your body, popping popcorn or anything in a microwave is giving you plenty of radioactive stuff, second hand smoke, and so on. But you do raise very good points in refference that most of these statements on the bottles have not been approved by the FDA. But Lots of us are starting to take them and many people have been taking them for years. Yes, nothing is proven to be "safe" but what is? The most important things are to do research on the product on the internet (this site), friends and people at the gym. And the other is to read the bottle. Dont think that more will help you faster. Someone put them there for a max. Good luck and let me know what you decide. Dont worry, these points made me think too! |

I agree that moderation is the key to long-term survival in what ever you do. Most 100 year olds have partaken in moderation from alcohol to smoking to food. Genetics have a big part here but intaking any supplement poses long term hazards as does medications that are prescribed. FDA approval of anything does not guarantee safety as the research submitted has to be valid as has not been true of somej approved meds of late. Researching data can be tricky if you don't know the researcher and his ambitions with his study. So yea take all suplements especially these new products moderately. We have all seen "proven" supplements that have turned out to be bogus. |

I totally agree. There are loads of natural foods out there which people aren't taking enough advantage of, and are opting for the supps instead |

how can i add weight in my lifts without suffering from strains and injury, should i take it really slow?...is defining your muscle would really depend on how much weight you lift and how many reps you do it
