I just read about this in my latest M&F Hers mag. I tried it yesterday at the gym and today at home. It's fun! It's also a great way to liven up a dull treadmill routine. You just stand on the treadmill sideways, go ssslllloooowwww at first because it's tricky. Bend your knees in a semi-squat and let your end leg go out, then bring your inner (closer to the front of the machine) leg to it. Slowly increase your speed to 2 mph to 2.5 and increase the incline. You should be doing a sideways "gallop" by now. Supposedly this increases your cardio effect and also increases calorie burn by up to 40% according to the article. Be sure to switch sides though, after a bit. They suggest increasing the incline instead of increasing speed. I felt it in my heart and lungs for sure, and my quads burned after a while. Just something new to try!

Sounds funny, thanks for sharing!
I'll be trying that next time I go out for a run and I'll be thinking of you!! (o;

Sounds like a lot of torque on the knee joint, but if it doesn't hurt and it spices up your cardio, go for it!
