My program is calling for Sissy Squats today. Either I swap for something else or, how do I do these if the machine isn't available at my gym?
I don't think Sissy Squats will get my results i'm looking for. Am I right?

Yes... sissy squats are great.... and trust me, you'll feel them... you don't need a machine either... there is a description in the exercise resources... but I think the pro description is different than the basic FT description...

Here's the Basic FT desription:
Movement Execution:
1. This movement is performed holding on to a stable object at your head level.
2. Stand with your feet close together, knees slightly bent. Grab on to something stable for support.
3. Now, raise to your toes. Now lower yourself to the ground allowing your knees to go further and your torso leaning back. Keep on your toes and feel the stretch in the front thighs. When you reach the point where you heels are touching your buttocks, pause.
4. Slowly, come back up to the starting position pushing once again only with your toes, try to use your support with your hand only for balance and not to lift yourself up. Contract your thighs fully at the top and repeat the movement.
Helpfull Hint:
This is a great movement for isolating the lower part of your quadriceps. This is an exercise for experienced people. It will aslo give you overall shape and strength gains. It is very important to keep a few things in mind. Stay on your toes and lean back to really get that stretch when you are at the bottom of the movement. Good Luck!

Do not be fooled by the name. Do about 10 of them as described and you will think differently about them. I am having trouble making it up stairs today because of the sissy squat

This is the very first time I've heard of these. They don't really sound so easy.

I use my weight bench to hold while doing sissy squats. I tried a different place to hold so about half way down, I proceeded to pull the entire bench with 210lbs on the bar down on me. I got out of the way but the floor did not fair too well. Back to the old holding place I went
