I work 14 hour night shifts as a nurse. I am having a hard time gaining muscle. Does the alteration of the body's biorhytm affect this and if so, what feasible changes can be made to lifestyle/workout to accommodate this factor? Thanks.

It's not when working out in the gym, your muscles will tone, it's when you rest....... (of course you need to work out and eat well as well though!!! ;o)

Try to get enough rest. When feeling too tired, find a quiet spot and close your eyes for ten mins. Even this very short rest can help you recover faster.

By the way, I just read your profile and you say that you have been weight training for many years, well me too, but I never really got any good results BEFORE I started to eat a lot of proteins..... (I eat 140-200 gr of proteins daily!!)

Maybe that could be your problem as well?.....
