I read on another post that muscles grow only when we sleep. Is that true? How much sleep is enough? Due to back and hip pain, I can barely get 7 hours a night. Anything more and it I have hell to pay.

7 is my max too agamble. Many nights as little as 4.

Don't get me wrong I feel good with 6-7 hours per night. I just noticed alot of posts about getting plenty of sleep and I wondered what was plenty. Are you a hoot owl? I'd be one ill SOB on just 4. I did that when I was in college. Worked nights and went to school during the day. Did it for six years. My wife and kids hated me. Hell, I hated myself!

That's what counts. Feeling good. I do have to say I wished I would have taken better care of myself when I was younger. Particularly my back and stomach.
