Hey,

I'm 17, 130 pounds, and am 5'11.5'' tall.

I was wondering if it's alright to snack between meals. Since I have school and I don't know what dinner will be, I have a hard time getting in 6 meals or meals every 3 hrs.
Would it be alright to just have 3 main meals and snack in between when I get hungry ?

What do you think?

thanks!

If the snack is low sugar, high protein and good carbs, sure. Did you know you could put your height, weight, other info and goals in your profile and then you don't need to type it everytime???

My husband just put me on this very restricted diet, I want to lose 20 pounds, guess what my snack is between meals, CELERY, yes celery, It worked out pretty good for me tonight, helped me to get through till my next meal. Lots of fiber, very filling. Now Celery, yuck, I hate it, but I want the 20 pounds off bad enough to do it.

there is no need to snack if you plan a good food plan that gives you 8 set meals a day- theres no time to snack... so work out your calorie intake to stick to and plan your easy sugars around your training time so if it's an apple or a mars snicker bar- eat it the hour before training and not bed time. Also you can't feel guilty about eating within the remit of your plan. Snacks for me are often apples, plums, celery, nuts, cereal, strawberries...

note a meal can be simple- reeducate yourself on what a meal is as a basic nutrient need not a huge plate of grub for fun. A meal can be just a slice of beef and 4 brocolli florets or a protein drink and an apple... so you see 8 a day isn't hard to do once planned- no cheating, no hunger pain, try it
