I'm wondering if anyone has any good thigh stretches that can relieve soreness and prevent it in the future. i had done more leg exercises than im use to and though i stretched in the cool down i dont think i did enough and/or long enough and today i was doing some cardio kick boxing stuff and when i tried to squate it felt like it does when your pants are too tight and u try squating..problem was it is my legs that are too tight! its the back of my thigh but its close to the inside. im going to drink this health shake that is suppose to work wonders for sore muscles but it taste awefule. anywho sorry to go on about this and thanks in advance!

thing is stretching won't do much....you have caused micro tears in the muscles or have lactic acid build up.

Best way to get rid of soreness is active recovery.....that is walk jog, light workout etc.....to get blood flow into the muscle flush out the lactic acid......as for the micro tears......only rest and food will repair them.......but good thing they heal back stronger...making the muscle stronger and bigger.

I find that stretches releive the soreness to some extent. With my thighs I do a partial split standing up, then lean to one side...straightening out one leg while the other is bent. Hold that for 20-30 seconds and then go to the other side. No deep stretches get rid of it any more then a light stretch, so just do it enough to pull that muscle a bit and you should notice it feels a little better. Otherwise as bigandrew suggested some active recovery always works well. Hope that helps!
