I'm extremely sore today (worked lower body Sunday night). Can anyone suggest anything beside the obvious -- hot bath and a good night sleep? I'm scheduled to workout today, but I'm so sore I can barely walk. Any help is appreciated.

me too i did my leg exercis on tuesday and my hammy's hurt and part of my lower back from doing staright leg deadlifts

I find a massage can help alot. It can get blood flowing to the sore muscles and warm them up. If you can, try getting a rub shortly before you workout. It will probably loosen you up enough to get through your workout. Works for me.

Do you usually work out your legs? IF NOT, there's your answer...not much that you can do other than your "obvious" suggestions or wait it out like you did when you first started lifting...the soreness goes away. If you HAVE BEEN lifting legs and they are still getting "so sore that you can barely walk", then maybe you're over-training. Did you start a new leg routine different from the old one? Amino acids are pretty crucial in muscle recovery, look into that a bit more. If this soreness persists or becomes too painful, consult a pro/doctor. Good luck!
