Hey guys... I have a question... I was doing:
Monday: Chest, bi's
Wednesday: shoulders, tri's
Friday: back, legs
I recently changed to:
Tuesday: Chest, bi's
Thursday: shoulders, legs
Saturday: back, tri's
I just worked chest today (Tuesday) and my workout wasn't great because my triceps were still sore from tricep day (Saturday). I was thinking of changing my split to this:
Tuesday: Chest, bi's
Thursday: back, tri's
Saturday: shoulders, legs
My question(s) are:
1) Will doing back just two days after doing bi's not give sufficient rest to my bi's? Should I move back day to Saturday?
2) And will doing tri's just two days after working chest hinder my tri workout? I tried to do my tri's on Saturday, but as shown above, I feel 2 days isn't enough rest for chest day.
I am really confused.. please help... thanks!!

1...plenty of rest for biceps...small bodyparts recover faster
2.....no same reason...
Tuesday: Chest, bi's
Thursday: back, tri's
Saturday: shoulders, legs
is the best split you listed

Your bad workout today didn't result from your workout on saturday. That's 72 hours in between more than plenty. Just because you triceps were still sore doesn't mean you aren't able to have a good workout. I would look at other things like how much sleep you had the night before or if you were very active over the weekend. Sometimes you just have a bad workout i happens to everybody. I had one 2 weeks ago where i was barely lifting anything. Your split looks fine the way it is. Wait and see how your workouts are over the next few weeks.
