split workout-beneficial?

I am starting to working again and was wondering if defeats the purpose to do a split workout. What I am doing right now is just walking @ an incline of 14% @ (2.6-2.7) for 1 hour. Will I do damage to my muscles if I lift weights at night?

No when you lift is a matter of personal prefernce more than anything.....I like to run and lift first thing in the morning. So to each his/her own!

No, you will not do any damage, in fact, you will probably aid them. I do the same, except in reverse order. I would maybe opt for weights in the morning, and cardio in the evening if you can. Just feed yourself properly, and one will not interfere with the other.
