I have read a lot about the importance of a rest day but was wondering if it is o.k. to split your routine into two consecutive days. Example = Chest, shoulders, back and arms one day and then legs and abs the following day.
Thanks in advance

it's ok to have 2 consecutive days of workouts...however your workout will leave you too tired to go intensely in any one area....don't do more than 1 big body part in one day...ie back, legs, chest....

you can try

chest, legs, rest, shoulders, back, arms, rest .....

this way you can give each body part the attention it deserves....

or you can split based on pull/push days or another way...depending on what you're training for...
