I finally went to the doctor about knee pain I've been having while running >30 min (I'm a distance runner). Seems it's a repeatitive stress injury to the ligaments :( Anyway, I start therapy next week, so that's good. In the mean time, I'm not supposed to do things like squats & leg press. Any ideas for knee super-friendly leg ideas? Due to running, my quads are already pretty darn strong, so maybe this is a good time for me to work on my hams/glutes...?

Thanks!

Kirby, I don't know the answer to your question but.....your therapist will. I found mine to be a font of knowledge and she had billions of alternative exercises.
Good luck, Charlie

Kirby,
You should strengthen your hammies and glutes. I work with volleyball players who get similar knee injuries and I have a ton of stuff you can do. If you need some help then drop me an email and I will be more than happy to give you some.

Day 1 went pretty well - I've got quite a few exercises to do & an IT band stretch. We'll see how it goes...after 8 weeks I'm going to try running again...

Thanks for the support!

Ok...I did the 8 weeks of therapy & have been "released". My therapist said I should slowly get back into running, stick to trails & limit the hills. I'm going to keep doing the exercises (though I was a slacker over the holidays...) and see how it goes. I'll let ya'll know...
