Starvation.? PLZ HELP ME.!!

I constantly find myself trying to ride my hunger out by not eating...but while doing that...i began to shake uncontrollably and cant even stand up or pick up things. Is this crossing the line of resisting hunger to starvation.? Please help me.!!!

Starving yourself is not a healthy thing to do. Try eating every 2-3 hours. Always try and eat a source of lean protien, healthy fat and "good carbs" at every feeding. A good snack would be something like a small piece of fruit + nuts, cottage cheese+berries, boiled egg + celery, hummus + veggies. This way you shouldnt be getting hungery and you'll stay within your daily caloric requirements, which should be a minimum of 1200 calories. Get back to eating regularily!!!

Shaking is a sign that your blood sugar is low, which means you NEED TO EAT! I can get that way if I don't eat breakfast on time. Fly is right. But, I want to clarify that although 1200 is the MINIMUM caloric intake you should be eating, if you exercise, you need to account for those calories burned and eat enough calories to make up for it. ie: if you burn 300 calories by doing aerobics, you need to be sure to eat 1500 calories for the day. Hi,

I wanted to add that by starving you will lose mainly muscle and not fat. In strvation mode your body will use approximately 200 grams of protein per day to fuel itself. That makes roughly 1 kg of lost muscle per day.

KA's telling me to eat all the time...it is by far healthier...I have actually GAINED weight about 7 pounds beceause I eat so little..maybe only a thousand calories a day..and when I do eat its crap in the last 6 months...

you actually slow your metabolism to a crawl when you starve. Are you heavy? If you are please have the Doc check your thyroid TSH hormone makes a world of diff to your health. Its going to sound funny, but if you do eat the way that has been recommended here, over time you will loose those nagging cravings, and pretty soon you'll be amazed at the amount you are actually consuming. the shift in perception seems to come from the body realizing that it isn't starving....of course your mileage may vary, good luck
