Are there any ratios that a person could use to determine what areas they need more work on?
ie: if I can squat x pounds, I should be able to leg curl y pounds.
or, if I can curl x pounds, I should be able to do tricep push downs with y pounds...
Does this make sense? I want to make sure my opposite muscle groups are in proportion, to avoid overtraining of the muscles that I really enjoy excercising.

That's a great question to ask. I'm interested in the answer as well.

That's true. And yeah that's the same with me man of steel, I use about the same amount of weight for barbell curls and tricep pushdowns as well.

Shouldnt ur tricep b stronger than ur bicep...bc thats the majority of ur arm and u use it the most for other exercises,ie bench or military presses. I would assume the same for your quads and hams too. Just a thought. Im not too sure about all of that either. Im not sure Im right, but its just something to add. It would b interesting to kno tho.

the only one ive ever heard is that your standing row OR weighted chin up should be withing 15% of your bench press, to prevent injuries due to strength inbalances.

I disagree. I don't use a mirror, and I am still more than capable of finding my weak spots, or other peoples weak spots. Don't be so quick to judge a book by its cover. I think that some people, myself included, would surprise you in that instance.

I've never heard of a proportion out there, but i'm interested in this subject as well.

I have read this somwhere....it may be kinda off....
But one "ideally" should be able to push( bench) and pull up or row about the same...
Your hams should be able to curl...2/3's of the weight you can extension..
tris....and bis...i think is same ratio as ham and extension...

Yes, I posted the bench and row relation.
I have also heard the leg curl/extension thing, but I heard you should be able to leg curl AT LEAST 2/3 the weight you can leg extension.
-------------- The best feeling in the world is the feeling you get after a tough set of squats after you step back from the power rack and throw up all over the floor.

no other ratios? I've heard the 1.5 times body weight bench, 2 times body weight squat, and 2.5 times body weight deadlift. Seems to be a pretty good ratio from my experience.

I got a lot of work to do...but I'll get there soon enough.

all ratios really depend on the goals of the athlete from what I've gathered.
